Craftunion took over the Fox and Hounds Forest Gate - they've done a decent job.

Re: Little Driver - Bow
Not exaclty the start to the season we wanted- been a gem of a pub with rapid service, cheap beer and fit birds behind the bar- sure they need a few more bogs but all in all was perfect. Pray it doesnt go all hipsterish and ten deep at the bar while they mix up the alfafalfa and lime cordials

Loved the Horn of Plenty… great little pub before a London away game…

The Bancroft Arms on Mile End Road is still a proper boozer. A short walk from Mile End Station.

Didn’t they take over the Boleyn ?

I hope it's not another lefty hipster joint. I hate the gentrification of the area because it's soulless. The Rusty Bike, previously the Horn of Plenty/The Firkin was a proper pub, now overrun with poxy students and blue-haired TikTok activists. The Bow Bells is the same.

Being taken over by Craft Union. We've got one of their pubs where I live. They're nothing fancy but Morettis £3.80 a pint!

You heard wrong. It has been taken over by a new brewery that owns a few pubs in the area and is going to do a complete refurb. It will be closed for about a month.

In terms of the best pubs in Bow - probably the Morpeth or the Crown.

Peckham you missed the Green Goose in your review - really good pub.

Said it before, they need an outside bar and toilets.

It’s criminal how they waste that massive beer garden.

One of the best pre match pubs, cant see it closing down personally, their takings on a match day must see them through the lean days.

Re: Little Driver - Bow
Despite the username now live in Bow. Walked past the driver tonight and whilst sometimes shuts early if lack of punters mid week looks like a building site. Windows boarded up, pub sign down etc. Looks like a refurb rather than a demolition but not likely to be opening too soon.
For anyone who drinks in Bow pre game The Coborn Arms nearby is also closed for a refurb from Sunday. Strange as not long been smartened. Something to do with outside beer garden I think.
Plenty of other decent pubs in Bow
Lighthouse. Weird / modern but pretty old school. The Albert and Young Prince on Roman Rd both old school, screens for football, walkable to stadium. Lord Morpeth. Pizza. Decent beer. Screens (I think). Eleanor Arms. Good beer (Sheperd Name). Landlord bit hit or miss but has garden, pool.and never busy. Probably one of nearest pubs to stadium.
Wentworth at Mile End solid. Widows Son by Devon's Road station worth a shout for the DLR lovers.
Basically if you have time. Come to Bow before a game!

Re: Little Driver - Bow
It's the best 'new' West Ham pub. It won't close, but then into a hipster place midweek. By the sounds of it, speaking the the barmaid before the pandemic, the brewery want to place to be upmarket, so reckon that's more likely. Wankers.

The Lighthouse or the Albert for me then.
